Spring COVID Booster vaccination programme 2022

As set out by the JCVI on 21st February, a Spring COVID booster will be offered to adults aged 75 years and over, residents in a care home for older adults and immunosuppressed individuals aged 12 years and over.

Patients aged 75 and over & residents in a care home for older adults

The Spring COVID booster will be given to patients in these groups 6 months after their first COVID booster.

Immunosuppressed individuals aged 12 years and over

Patients in this group should also be offered the Spring COVID booster 6 months after their first COVID booster, having already received a primary course of three COVID vaccinations and one booster.

At the Nelson Health Centre and Wilson Hospital, the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine will be offered as the Spring COVID booster.

You will be contacted by the NHS 6 months after your first COVID booster.

Once you have been contacted, please book an appointment with the Nelson Health Centre or Wilson Hospital.

And lastly, a gentle reminder about face coverings

While we are aware that face coverings are not mandatory in public spaces, as we are healthcare providers, we still expect all staff and visitors to wear a mask.

Please keep other members of the public safe.

COVID vaccines are safe and save lives!
