Ordering repeat prescriptions

Patients on regular medication will require prescriptions and, for a safer and speedier service, repeat prescriptions are computerised. Your doctor will have entered onto the computer what medication you are taking, and each time a new prescription is written by the computer a new prescription request form is generated for you to make your next request. Please ensure that you keep this form.

The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:

We encourage all patients to request their medication using the NHS app, alternatively your local Pharmacy can do this for you. We do not take medication requests over the phone, and we ask all patients to nominate a local Pharmacy for collection at registration point. Please note, you can only request medications on repeat, or medications that have been previously issued only.

If you are receiving any medication which is not on your request form, please add this clearly on the request slip and it will be added to your prescription if your doctor agrees.

All patients on repeat medication should see their doctor at least once a year for a medication review please make an appointment before the review date shown on your prescription. If you request a prescription after your review date has passed, you will be asked to make an appointment with the doctor.

Ordering a repeat prescription through a pharmacy

If a pharmacy offers a prescription collection and delivery service you may take the repeat prescription request form to them. The pharmacy will obtain the prescription from the surgery and have the items ready for you to collect.
