Important: Enable your NHS App notifications

We increasingly use the NHS App to send important information such as updates about your care or treatment, appointment information and reminders, and responses to queries or advice requests.

The NHS App is designed to notify you when a new message arrives, but you will only receive these alerts if notifications are enabled on your device. For instructions on how enable these, please click here.

Without notifications switched on, you may not realise that a message has been sent to you unless you open the app and check manually.

Flu and COVID autumn vaccine programme brought forward

Due to the emergence of a new COVID variant (BA.2.86) in mid-August, the flu and COVID vaccination programme (which was due to start in October) has been brought forward to mid-September.

The new variant has 30 new mutations. It represents the biggest change since Omicron and is highly transmissible.

We will be working with Merton Federation to deliver the COVID vaccination locally, most likely at the Nelson Health Centre site which was previously used. All those over 65 and in at-risk groups (including pregnant women, carers, health workers and those living with an immunosuppressed individual) are highly recommended to take up our offer of this booster along with an annual flu jab.

Please ensure that we have up-to-date contact details for you.
