We are pleased to advise patients that the seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccination programmes will begin from 1 October 2026.
Flu vaccination eligibility
From 1 October 2026, the NHS flu vaccine is available to patients who are eligible under the national programme, including:
– Adults aged 65 years and over
– Adults aged 18 to under 65 years in a clinical risk group
– Residents of long-stay residential care homes
– Carers
– Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
– Eligible social care workers
Children and pregnant women
Children eligible for the intranasal flu vaccine and pregnant women became eligible from 1 September 2026 and invitations have already been issued.
COVID vaccination eligibility
The autumn COVID vaccination programme is available to:
– Adults aged 75 years and over
– Residents in care homes for older adults
– Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed
