The Attic Theatre Company is a small-scale not-for-profit arts organisation based in Mitcham which runs weekly singing, dance and movement sessions for anyone over the age of 50, or at risk of isolation, or facing mild to moderate frailty.
Movement Mornings – Open dance workshops for people with mild to moderate frailty
Mondays 10:30-11:30, Vestry Hall, Mitcham
Thursdays 13:30-14:30, Canons Leisure Centre, Mitcham
Carefully designed for (but not exclusive to) anyone living with mild to moderate frailty, these free sessions will lead you through a fusion of dance styles from across the globe. With Natasha’s support, you’ll improve flexibility, memory, strength and stamina. Every session is followed by free tea and coffee.
Going for a Song – Open singing workshops for people at risk of isolation and to boost wellbeing
Mondays 12:00-13:00, Vestry Hall, Mitcham
Wednesdays 14:45-15:45, Hillside Church, Wimbledon
Led by Musical Director and professional singer Christopher Killerby, learn new songs and visit old favourites. No experience necessary, no weekly commitment, and free tea and coffee provided.
Feelgood Fridays – Dance and movement workshops for those living with dementia and their carers to enjoy moving to music, improve cardiovascular health and retain social connections
Fridays 11:00-12:00, Merton Memory Hub, Mitcham
Improve your flexibility, stamina and strength, whilst enjoying moving to different types of music, being creative and gaining confidence. With time for tea, biscuits and chat, arrive from 10:30 to catch up with others before getting moving between 11:00-12:00.
