Patient Participation Group

What is the Patient Participation Group (PPG)?

The PPG is a small group of patients who volunteer to work on behalf of all patients. The PPG aims to foster improved communication between the Practice and its patients.
It also works to:

  • help patients to take more responsibility for their health
  • contribute to the continuous improvement of local health services
  • provide practical support and help to implement change

Who are the PPG?

Our PPG currently consists of:
Clare Pickard (Interim Chair), Judith Brodie, Marilyn Frampton, Jose Lourtie and Geoff Shorter.

Claire Gummett attends meetings as an expert adviser and provides a valuable service to patients, PPG and practice in her patient and public engagement role on the board of Merton CCG and other work in the community.

How does the PPG work?

The PPG is patient-led and self-organising. It meets regularly with Practice representatives – usually a GP and the Practice Manager. It provides a forum for consultation – to discuss ideas, make suggestions and voice concerns. It produces a quarterly newsletter to keep patients informed. It organises occasional activities & events and an annual survey to seek patients’ views of the service they get from the Practice and PPG.

Join our Patient Participation Group

To help us become more representative we need to be able to contact a much larger group of patients to hear your experiences of the practice, to learn about any concerns, and any ideas you have which we can develop with the practice to help them deliver the best and most suitable healthcare for us, the patients.

We also want to be able to contact you by email to keep you up to date with our activities but we need you to supply us with your email address and give permission for this to happen. Your contact details will only be used by the PPG for its purposes and will not be shared with any other body.
